I was unsure as to how to progress with the problem I had but from the initial contact the Disputes Mediation Service were amazing. The initial telephone conversation put me at ease as everything process wise was laid out and explained with clarity and what the next steps would be. After the initial consultation I arranged to have a MIAM meeting the great thing being there were a lot of dates and times to choose from meaning that it was a) simple to schedule around work and b) a quick timeframe. The Mediator in the MIAM meeting itself was amazing and instantly put me at ease. Although they are and have to be impartial it helped to talk about my situation and how mediation would work to possibly help remedy this. The emphasis is that the mediators cannot decide for you but provide a platform in which hopefully you and your opposite can communicate, negotiate and hopefully get to a conclusion that is satisfactory for all. I am awaiting to hear if the other party engages with the process but so far in terms of getting everything moving Disputes Mediation have been fantastic and I would highly recommend them to anyone considering this process.
